Word Construction

The primary objective of Word Construction is to provide students, parents,
and instructors teachers with goals and structure that will meet the needs of
students requiring either primary instruction or remediation in the
comprehension or expression of the English language.  Toward this end, a
thorough exploration of Latinate, Greek, and Anglo-Saxon word construction is
an essential element of any English language training system because the
preponderance of the English language is composed of Latinate (55%),
Anglo-Saxon (25%), and Greek word construction (11%).  Therefore, the
ability to recognize and manipulate Latinate, Greek, and Anglo-Saxon prefixes,
suffixes, roots, and combining forms is important to strengthening visual and
auditory processing abilities.  Included in this book are comprehensive lists of
common prefixes, roots, and combining forms for the Anglo-Saxon, Latinate,
and Greek components of our language.

This 38-page book is designed for use by dedicated parents in home schooling
students preparing for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), and by Educational
Specialists, Language Specialists, and mainstream or special needs English
    Departments.
